MC33810 GPGD Fault Config

This block allows the fault configuration of a GPGD style MC33810 output to be applied.

Description

This block allows the fault configuration of a GPGD style MC33810 output to be applied. GPGD outputs have a MOSFET type output stage rather than an IGBT output stage. The output stage is defined by the module hardware. Only resources that utilize a GPGD capable MC33810 output with a MOSFET output stage will be populated in the resource list.

Signals are cached internally and only applied to the MC33810 device via SPI when the value is detected as having changed. The default MC33810 setting (as defined by revision 3 of the MC33810 datasheet) is applied to any input signal left unconnected or connected to a "ground".

Signals

Enable Retry (bool)

This signal defines whether the associated resource shall attempt to retry assertion if a short circuit fault has been detected without requiring the application to first turn the output off. The time between retries is proportional to the Short Time.

Short Voltage (uint16, mV)

This signal defines the drain source voltage threshold that must be exceeded whilst the output is asserted before a short circuit condition is detected. This voltage is normally near zero when asserted, but rises under short circuit conditions. The supplied value is rounded to the nearest value supported by the MC33810. Values between 500mV and 3000mV are supported by the device.

Short Time (uint16, us)

This signal defines how long the the drain source voltage threshold must be exceeded before the output is considered to be suffering a short circuit condition. This time is also proportional to the retry time, which is nominally 100 times larger. The supplied value is rounded to the nearest value supported by the MC33810. Values between 30us and 960us are supported by the device.
