Description

Overview

This MotoHawk™ block retrieves the results of VISTA knock processing. It should be executed from within a knock complete trigger so as to ensure that valid data for knock is acquired.

Signals

Cylinder Trigger

This trigger will allow per engine cylinder execution to be controlled. The cylinder that last completed its knock will fire. Note that the PIPI signal defines what the active cylinder is and so should be tuned to ensure that VISTA's internal cylinder value is valid when this block is executed.

Last Computed Cylinder

The engine cylinder that was last updated. Note that the PIPI signal defines what the active cylinder is and so should be tuned to ensure that VISTA's internal cylinder value is valid when this block is executed.

Knock Energy

An array of the current acquired knock energies arranged in engine cylinder order. The Last Computer Cylinder Knock Energy will have been updated before this block executed. Knock Energy describes the result of the integration of the knock signal while the Knock Detect Window (KDW) was asserted.

Ref Energy

An array of the current acquired reference (noise) energies arranged in engine cylinder order. The Last Computer Cylinder Reference (Noise) Energy will have been updated before this block executed. Reference Energy describes the result of the integration of the knock signal while the Knock Detect Window (KDW) was asserted.

Ratio

The Knock Energy divided by the Reference Energy. The VISTA Knock Get Scale block should be used to determine where the decimal point exists. Thus a scale value of 4 would represent a binary value of xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxxx and thus 1.0 would be represented by the value of 16. The ratio value is only of value if the knock calculations are going to remain in a fixed point form.
