Using GCC With Motohawk

Support for the GCC open source compilers was added for MPC5xx and MPC55xx processors starting with MotoHawk 2009bSP0.

GCC PowerPC eabi 4.4.0 is supported for 5xx modules in MotoHawk 2009b to 2011a. This is the 48, 80, and 128-pin modules.

GCC PowerPC eabi 'SPE' 4.4.0 is supported for 55xx modules in MotoHawk 2009b to 2011a. This is the 112-pin module.

Starting with MotoHawk 2011b, support for GCC 4.4.0 was replaced by GCC 4.6.0.

Multiple versions of GCC can be installed simultaneously. It is not necessary to uninstall a previous version of GCC before installing a new version.

GCC can be downloaded from Woodward's primary website, woodward.com, and enter GCC into the basic search field.
