Description

Push Pull Feedback.PNG

This block can also be used in combination with the Push Pull Feedback Get block if the definition of the Fault Status needs to be separated from the accessor. The "Name" parameter can be empty. If it is, then the Name is inherited from the resource selected. For some targets, a value of 65535 is an indeterminate value, not an actual ADC reading.

The push-pull feedback block can be used with the EST pins on 112-pin (ECM-5554-112-0904) module. The Push Pull Diagnostic blocks give access to the ADC converter which is used to diagnose fault conditions by the MDA port. When the EST outputs are being used for smart coils (ex. not driven with discrete out), the MDA ports are monitored for the proper state (short circuit detect). When the engine is not running the low-side driver is turned off and the analog voltage is monitored for open circuit detection, and assumes an external load forms a voltage divider with an internal 130K pull-up. Push Pull diagnostics compare the diagnostic input voltage/ADC counts to pre-set thresholds (lower:20, upper:275). These are calibratable in MotoTune (under system, IO) and would depend on the load

Block Parameters

Parameter Field Values Comments/Description
Name Alpha-numeric text, single-quote enclosed. Provide a name, or leave blank (Name is then inherited from the resource selected). No special characters, such as spaces, dashes, commas (underscore allowed).
Resource Drop-down list Select resource for feedback as available from the list.
Show Ports Check box (enable). Select to make the block's Output port available for use in the model.
